High Country – Little Compton RI


Project Description:

This is a 32’x24’ modular horse barn in the high country style. This Little Compton, RI horse barn was built with white pine board & batten siding. The roof has 8 pitch rafters and architectural shingle roof with GAF Timberline HDZ (Barkwood color) shingles. The windows are sliding wood barn sash windows manufactured by Bird-In-Hand Windows & Doors. The 4’x9’ roll doors with windows and 4’x7’ dutch doors with window and service door and sliding loft door with window and gable vents are manufactured by J&N Structures.

Layout :

This modular horse barn has a 12’x10’ stall and a 12’x14’ stall and a 12’x12’ tack room and a 12’x12’ open storage area and a 8’x24’ center aisle. It has a partial loft accessed via stairs in the tack room. The partial loft is open to the stalls below and is lined with railing. One end of the loft has a sliding loft door with window and the other end has a sliding window and over the center aisle is a hay hole with hinged cover. On each end, up near the peak, is a gable vent. The stalls are lined with 4’ high oak kick boards and have a sliding stall door into the center aisle and a dutch door with window to the outside. The tack room has floor and a sliding window and a service door into the center aisle. The open storage area has a sliding window and is open to the center aisle. The center aisle has double sliding doors with windows at each end. On either side of the sliding doors are extra sliding windows.
