Lean-To Barn – Charlton, MA


Project Description:

This is an L-shaped shed row horse barn with a 10′ lean-to. This Charlton, MA L-shaped shed row horse barn with lean-to was built with white pine board and batten siding. It has 3 pitch rafters and an architectural shingle roof with GAF Timberline HDZ (Hickory color) shingles. The windows are sliding wood barn sash windows manufactured by Bird-In-Hand Windows & Doors. The 60″x80″ sliding door and 4’x7′ dutch doors with window and 48″x80″ dutch doors and double service doors and service door and gable vents are manufactured by J&N Structures.

Benefits:

This L-shaped shed row horse barn has (3) 12’x12′ stalls and a 12’x16′ tack room and a 12’x12′ grooming stall and a 12’x20′ hay storage room and a 10′ wide open lean-to. The stalls are lined with 4′ high oak kick boards and have a dutch door with a window in the front and a dutch door in the rear. One stall has a sliding window on the side. The tack room has a floor and a service door in the front and a sliding window in the rear. The grooming stall is lined with floor-to-ceiling oak kickboards and is open in the front and has a 60″x80″ sliding door in the rear. The hay storage room has floor and double service doors in the front and (2) sliding windows in the rear. On each end of the barn, up near the peak, are gable vents. The lean-to offers shelter from the hot sun or rain and snow.
